Citroën is adding an OUTDOOR trim to the C3 and C3 Aircross ranges. Positioned above MAX, the new grade brings redesigned bumpers, grey side inserts, 17-inch alloy wheels, red accents and dedicated cabin details. It is a styling and equipment package rather than an off-road conversion: neither model gains four-wheel drive or a separate chassis specification through the OUTDOOR badge.

A new grade above MAX
Citroën is using the OUTDOOR name across the C3, C3 Aircross and Ami families. For the C3 and C3 Aircross, the trim sits at the top of the range, above MAX. The idea is to give the small hatchback and the compact SUV a more distinctive appearance while adding equipment for daily use, family trips and the sort of outdoor activities that do not require a specialist vehicle.
Both models receive redesigned front and rear bumpers. Grey inserts run along the lower side sections and carry an embossed OUTDOOR logo. The logo includes Migoo, the mascot Citroën is using to represent this cross-range theme. The C3 Aircross also adds Aircross lettering to the side insert, making the SUV’s treatment easier to distinguish from the C3 hatchback.

Infra Rouge accents appear on the vertical bumper clips, on a rear-quarter detail and on the front and rear Citroën emblems. The C3 Aircross adds LED front fog lights in the lower bumper. These changes alter the visual identity and equipment list, but they do not increase ground clearance or create a four-wheel-drive system. The OUTDOOR name should therefore not be read as a technical off-road designation.
Wheels, roof bars and practical equipment
The C3 and C3 Aircross OUTDOOR use 17-inch alloy wheels with an angular design and a matt finish. The C3 Aircross receives a more overtly SUV-shaped version with diamond-cut detailing and red accents. It also gains functional roof bars, which can support approved accessories such as bike carriers or roof boxes within the vehicle’s permitted load limits.

The roof bars are a practical distinction for the Aircross, but they do not change the car’s towing or off-road capability. Buyers still need to check the official accessory, roof-load and towing figures for the specific engine and market. A visual package can make a car more suitable for weekend equipment without changing its underlying platform.
The C3 Aircross OUTDOOR remains available with the powertrain choices offered by the range. Depending on market, that includes petrol, hybrid and electric versions. Citroën’s launch material presents OUTDOOR as a trim applied across several technologies, not as a single-engine special edition. Prices, equipment and powertrain combinations can differ between countries.
The Dune cabin
The interior receives its own treatment, called Dune in Citroën’s launch material. The dashboard carries OUTDOOR lettering, while Migoo is laser-embroidered on the seat backrests. Red stitching echoes the exterior accents, and orange seat belts add another contrasting colour. The aim is to give the trim a recognisable identity without changing the basic cabin layout of either model.

These are trim and upholstery changes rather than a new interior architecture. The C3 remains the smaller urban hatchback, while the C3 Aircross keeps its taller body and more generous passenger space. For the Aircross, the roof bars, seating position and cabin volume have a clearer practical connection to family and leisure use than the decorative graphics alone.
Citroën also associates the grade with its Advanced Comfort seats and Advanced Comfort suspension where those features are included in the relevant specification. The exact standard equipment still depends on the country, body style, engine and option list. A European press release does not guarantee that every market receives the same equipment without changes.

Updates for the C3 and its electrified versions
The C3 gains front parking sensors within the range updates described for the new grade. Hybrid and electric versions also receive keyless entry and start as standard in the announced configuration. These features have a direct effect on everyday use, particularly in urban parking spaces and during frequent short stops.
The C3 OUTDOOR can be combined, depending on market, with a turbocharged petrol engine, a hybrid system and an extended-range electric powertrain. The C3 Aircross OUTDOOR is likewise offered with petrol, hybrid and electric choices in the markets covered by Citroën’s material. The trim name therefore does not identify a single performance level or a single battery specification.

The C3 OUTDOOR also includes a Winter Pack in the announced range. It brings heated front seats, a heated steering wheel and a heated windscreen. Those features can be useful in colder climates, although buyers should confirm whether the pack is standard, optional or unavailable in their national specification.
Colours and market positioning
Sequoia Green is the reference exterior colour presented for the OUTDOOR versions. Perla Nera Black is also available without an extra charge in the markets described by Citroën, while the rest of the palette follows the local range. The green paint, grey inserts and red details establish the trim’s visual theme; they do not signal a different powertrain or a higher ground-clearance package.

Because OUTDOOR is positioned above MAX, its value depends on how a buyer uses the car. A C3 customer may compare the cost of the trim with the price of adding comfort features separately. For an Aircross buyer, roof bars, fog lights, 17-inch wheels and the cabin treatment can be more relevant to family use. Neither model is being presented as a rival to a dedicated four-wheel-drive SUV.

What buyers should check locally
Citroën has announced OUTDOOR for European markets, but local availability can vary. Before ordering, buyers should check the exact engine, electric range, charging specification, roof-load limit, luggage capacity and standard equipment. For electrified versions, charging power and battery size matter more than the OUTDOOR name itself.
The new grade therefore changes how the C3 and C3 Aircross are specified rather than creating two new mechanical models. Both receive a stronger visual theme, dedicated interior details and extra comfort equipment, while their basic body styles and powertrain families remain recognisable. The final price and equipment list will depend on the national Citroën importer.
