Bentley Torcal will be the most powerful and fastest model in the brand’s history
Bentley has confirmed that the new Torcal, its first fully electric car, will become the production model with the highest power and the quickest acceleration in the company’s history. The British manufacturer has not yet published the final figures, but the claim sets two clear benchmarks: more than 782 hp and a time of less than 3.2 seconds for 0 to 100 km/h.
Those are the figures of the current Continental GT Speed, whose plug-in hybrid system combines a 4.0-litre V8 with an electric motor and delivers 1,000 Nm. Torcal will have to beat that model on power and sprint, but Bentley has not said by how much.
Exact power remains unknown
The manufacturer’s announcement focuses on how the performance will be delivered, not on the specification sheet. Electric propulsion will provide an immediate response to the accelerator and a continuous supply of torque, and the calibration will aim to keep passenger comfort.
Bentley says maximum acceleration has been calibrated “within the limits of comfort”. That suggests Torcal will not chase only the smallest possible time to 100 km/h. Body-motion control, the suspension and torque delivery will matter in a luxury SUV that must remain comfortable on a long journey as well.

From large engines to electric torque
For the Torcal presentation, Bentley linked the new propulsion to several important models from its own history. The Speed Six and cars fitted with the 6.75-litre V8 built the brand’s reputation for large reserves of torque, available without the driver constantly asking the engine for high revs.

In Torcal’s case, the same sensation should be obtained with electric motors. Bentley has not yet confirmed how many there will be, the output of each, battery capacity, homologated range or top speed. Until the full data are published, any more precise figure for the powertrain remains an estimate.
The first electric Bentley will be presented on 23 September
Torcal will be fully revealed in London on 23 September 2026. The model will open a fourth family in the range, alongside the Continental GT, Flying Spur and Bentayga, and will be built at Bentley’s plant in Crewe, United Kingdom.
The manufacturer describes it as a luxury SUV smaller than the Bentayga. Complete body images have not yet been published, and the new photograph shows only part of the roof and the rear area. The Torcal name is inspired by the El Torcal de Antequera limestone formations in Andalusia, Spain.

What the announcement means for future buyers
The confirmation now shows the model’s positioning, but it is not enough for a complete comparison. At launch, WLTP range, peak charging power, mass, interior space and behaviour in low temperatures will matter, not only acceleration.
Bentley has not announced prices or a delivery timetable for Romania. That information, together with the versions and equipment available locally, is expected after the official presentation.
