BMW M is preparing a run of limited editions for the Nürburgring’s 100 years. The programme covers six performance cars — BMW M2, M3 Sedan, M3 Touring, M4, M5 Sedan and M5 Touring — and each version will be limited to 100 examples, according to Top Gear.
Orders are expected to open in September 2026, with deliveries scheduled for the following year. BMW has not yet communicated prices or the split by market, so availability for Romania is not confirmed.
The Nürburgring’s historic green, the distinctive element
The special editions will be configurable in “Historical Nürburgring Green”, inspired by the German circuit opened in 1927. Customers will also be able to choose a black variant, and the cars receive specific graphics, with the “100 Years” logo, the inscription “Nürburgring since 1927” and the silhouette of the Nordschleife.
Dedicated accents are announced for the front grille and wheels, plus grey-tone stripes. The interior brings contrast stitching, an Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel and embroidered headrests. The changes are of identification and equipment; the source does not indicate dedicated mechanical work for this series.
M3 Touring, in a run of only 100 units
For the European market, the M3 Touring is one of the relevant models in the programme: it combines the inline-six and M division performance with an estate body. In this anniversary series, production is capped at 100 cars, as for the other five vehicles.
BMW is extending the theme to motorcycles as well. Three BMW M Motorrad models are planned in editions of 100 units each, but the technical details and prices have not been published.
The Nürburgring turns 100 in 2027. For BMW, the circuit in the Eifel remains both a motorsport landmark and a track used in developing production models and M versions.
