LEPAS has presented the L6 PHEV in Romania at the 2026 Bucharest Auto Show and opened local pre-orders for its compact plug-in hybrid SUV. The model combines a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine with an electric motor, a stated total output of 205 kW or 279 hp, and an 18.4 kWh LFP battery.
The Romanian list price is €39,990 including VAT. The launch campaign communicated for the model offers a €35,990 price to customers who pay a €1,000 deposit between 6 October and 30 November 2026. Buyers should confirm the campaign terms, vehicle specification and delivery conditions with an authorised LEPAS retailer before placing an order.
A compact SUV for the Romanian range
The official Romanian model page lists the L6 PHEV at 4,554 mm long, 1,852 mm wide and 1,675 mm high, with a 2,700 mm wheelbase. These dimensions place it in the compact-to-mid-size SUV area and give it a five-seat layout. It is smaller than the L8, which LEPAS introduced in Romania before the L6’s Bucharest debut.
LEPAS lists Essence and Elegance versions for the L6 PHEV page, while the car shown at the Bucharest event was described in local launch coverage as an Elegance model. The company also warns on its website that colours and equipment may differ by version. Features seen on a show car should therefore not be assumed to be standard on every pre-order.
LEPAS is a Chery Group brand. Its European launch took place at Milan Design Week in April 2026, where the company presented the LEX new-energy platform and the L6 EV, L6 PHEV and L8 PHEV. The L6 is positioned as the smaller, more urban-oriented model in that initial European line-up.

Plug-in hybrid system and WLTP figures
The powertrain uses a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine and an electric motor integrated into a dedicated hybrid transmission. LEPAS and local launch material quote 205 kW of total system output, while the battery has an 18.4 kWh LFP chemistry. The announced electric-only range is up to 92 km in the WLTP cycle, with combined WLTP range of up to 1,058 km.
WLTP electric range is a controlled-cycle figure rather than a promise for every journey. Low temperatures, motorway speeds, heating, air conditioning, vehicle load and driving style can all reduce the distance available from the battery. The practical advantage of a plug-in hybrid depends on charging it regularly and using the electric range for the journeys it can cover.
On its official Romanian page, LEPAS gives the L6 PHEV a weighted combined consumption of 2.2 l/100 km, 5.9 l/100 km with the battery discharged, weighted CO2 emissions of 49 g/km and electric energy consumption of 14.8 kWh/100 km. The company identifies these as EU type-approval values for the Essence and Elegance versions. The 2.2 l/100 km figure should therefore be read together with the discharged-battery figure rather than treated as the result of running the SUV without charging.
Charging and daily operation
The battery must be charged from a suitable outlet or charging point if the owner wants to use the electric part of the system. The Romanian L6 model page does not publish a full charging-time figure, so the onboard charger, cable requirements and charging schedule should be checked in the specification for the ordered version.
A plug-in hybrid can use very little petrol on short trips when it starts with a charged battery. Once the usable electric energy is depleted, the petrol engine carries more of the work and the real consumption moves closer to the official discharged-battery figure. This is why the weighted WLTP number is not directly comparable with an independently measured long-distance result.
The cabin combines a digital instrument cluster with a large central screen. LEPAS describes five usable seats, rear passenger space and a layout centred on the driver. The interior image used here comes from the official Romanian L6 gallery and is illustrative; exact trim, software and comfort equipment depend on the version selected.

Safety and equipment boundaries
Local launch information describes front, front-side and curtain airbags, plus a central airbag between the front seats. It also refers to front seat belts with pretensioners and force limiters, warnings for unfastened belts and a package of driver-assistance systems.
The official LEPAS website highlights digital connectivity, a central display and visibility functions. The complete ADAS list, the availability of parking functions and the exact equipment included with Essence or Elegance should be checked in the purchase documents. A motor-show presentation does not replace the final equipment sheet.
The L6 uses LEPAS’s Leopard Beauty Aesthetics design language. Its official gallery shows a dark front grille, slim lighting elements, a full-width rear light signature and a sloping roofline. The Romanian page presents Solar Orange, Bamboo Green, Obsidian Black, Champagne Gold, Metallic Silver and Pearl White as colour choices, although availability must be confirmed with the retailer.

Pre-order practicalities
The pre-order campaign opened with the Bucharest Auto Show presentation. Its stated period runs from 6 October to 30 November 2026, and the €35,990 launch price requires a €1,000 deposit. The price difference from the €39,990 list figure is €4,000, but customers should clarify the deposit’s contractual treatment, delivery timetable, cancellation terms and the equipment attached to the offer.
LEPAS Romania lists authorised dealers and has opened a showroom near Sibiu before the L6 presentation in Bucharest. A local service network matters for a plug-in hybrid because scheduled maintenance, software updates and high-voltage-system work must be handled through appropriate technical support.
The L6 PHEV therefore enters Romania with a defined launch price, a stated electric WLTP range of up to 92 km and compact SUV dimensions. The next details buyers need are confirmed delivery dates, the final equipment list and running costs after the launch campaign ends.
