Opel is preparing the new Astra GSE Line trim, which will replace the GS level from spring 2027. The version will be shown in public at the 2026 Paris Motor Show and will be available with the electric, plug-in hybrid, hybrid and petrol powertrains offered on the Astra.
What the new GSE Line trim adds
The changes focus on the exterior and on cabin details. The inserts below the Opel Vizor grille receive a colour treatment specific to this version, and the bumper carries a “GSE LINE” inscription.
Diamond-cut alloy wheels are offered in 17-inch size, with 18-inch wheels available as an option. Opel keeps the standard GS-level equipment and adds visual elements inspired by the performance GSE models.
Inside, yellow stitching appears on the seats, steering wheel, door inserts and centre armrest. The sport pedals are aluminium, and sport seats with integrated headrests will be available as an option on the Astra, Astra Hybrid and Astra Plug-in Hybrid.
The same look, several powertrains
Unlike the Opel Mokka GSE and Corsa GSE, which use electric propulsion, Astra GSE Line is a trim level rather than a separate powertrain. Customers will be able to choose from the Astra range, including battery-electric versions, plug-in hybrid systems, 48-volt hybrid systems and conventional combustion engines.
Opel has also announced a future top version with 206 kW, equivalent to about 280 hp. The company has not yet specified that version’s powertrain, price or order date.
Paris debut, sales from spring 2027
The Opel Astra GSE Line will be presented at the 2026 Paris Motor Show. The commercial launch is scheduled for spring 2027, when the new trim will take the place of the GS level in the Astra range.
More Opel models will later receive GSE Line versions, and the company has said it will provide further details during 2027. Prices and an order-opening date for Romania have not yet been communicated.
