The Environmental Fund Administration reopened registrations for private individuals in the Rabla Auto 2026 programme on 25 August at 10:00. For this stage, 93.737 million lei were redistributed from amounts previously reserved but for which applicants had not completed the programme steps.
Demand quickly closed two of the three allocations displayed on the platform. The motorcycle budget ran out at 10:03:59, and the category named by AFM “Motor ELECTRIC” closed at 10:41:58.
For the “Motor TERMIC” category, the AFM platform indicated 54.966 million lei available at the check made on 25 August 2026. The amount is dynamic and can fall as new applications are registered. The updated situation should be checked directly in the AFM session list.
Which categories still have money
AFM groups applications on the platform into three allocations: motorcycles, “Motor ELECTRIC” and “Motor TERMIC”. The public table displays the allocations and applications from the session cumulatively, including the stage that began in July, not only the new registrations from 25 August.

The thermal category covers applications for cars with an eligible internal combustion engine, including LPG or CNG, and for hybrid cars. Diesel cars are not funded through this edition of the programme.
The electric category in the application should not be confused only with fully electric cars. In the Rabla 2026 budget structure, the allocation includes electric vehicles, hydrogen fuel-cell vehicles and plug-in hybrid cars, with different eco-voucher values.
Rabla Auto 2026 eco-voucher values
The values announced by AFM for private individuals remained unchanged at the reopening on 25 August:
- 18,500 lei for a new fully electric or hydrogen fuel-cell car;
- 15,000 lei for a plug-in hybrid car or an electric motorcycle;
- 12,000 lei for a car with a hybrid propulsion system;
- 10,000 lei for a car with an eligible internal combustion engine, including LPG or CNG, or for a motorcycle.
The eco-voucher is not a sum transferred freely to the applicant. It is applied in the purchase of the eligible vehicle, through a validated manufacturer or dealer, after the scrapping and deregistration conditions have been met.
The application must be downloaded after the new stage opens
AFM notes that, for registrations started on 25 August, only the financing applications available in the app after 10:00 on the same day are valid. A form downloaded earlier must not be reused.
The applicant completes the valid application and uploads it to the platform at the moment of submission. When registration is completed, the application automatically generates a registration number and reserves the eco-voucher value, within the remaining money in the chosen category.
Simply creating an account or starting the form does not reserve the budget. The reservation appears only after the process is completed and the registration number is issued.
A 10-day deadline for the old car, documents and dealer
After obtaining the registration number, the applicant has 10 days for three important operations:
- enter the chassis number of the used vehicle;
- upload the documents required by the Financing Guide;
- select a manufacturer validated in the application.
Failure to meet the deadline can lead to loss of the reservation. The applicant should not wait until the last hours to request tax certificates or to clarify the documents of a possible transferor.
AFM stated in an earlier stage that, after obtaining approved beneficiary status, the private individual has 60 days to scrap and deregister the used vehicle, upload the documents and enter the deregistration date. The exact deadlines should be followed in the applicant’s account and in the guide, because the 10-day and 60-day stages refer to different moments in the file.
Until when the session remains open
The official calendar indicates 31 December 2026, 23:59:59, as the final deadline. In practice, each category closes earlier if its budget is fully reserved, as has already happened with the allocations for motorcycles and “Motor ELECTRIC”.
People who want an eligible thermal or hybrid car could still register at the time of publication. Before submission, the current value on the platform should be checked, not the amount mentioned in an article or a commercial offer.

What to check before choosing the car
Reserving the eco-voucher does not guarantee that any car in the showroom is eligible or can be delivered on time. The buyer should confirm with the dealer:
- that the exact version and powertrain enter the programme;
- that the dealer appears among the validated manufacturers;
- the final price after the eco-voucher and after commercial discounts;
- the delivery time and whether the car is in stock;
- the documents and timetable for scrapping and deregistration;
- what happens to the deposit if the file is not approved.
A contract or an order should be read separately from programme registration. AFM reserves the financing under the conditions of the guide, while the dealer sets the commercial conditions of the purchase.
