Alpine will reveal the PS1 concept at the 2026 Paris Motor Show on 12 October. The French performance brand has released a single teaser image showing an extremely thin headlight with a French tricolour light signature. The body, cabin and technical specification remain under wraps until the presentation scheduled for 09:20 CEST on the first press day.

What PS1 means

PS1 is the shorthand for “Projet Spécial 1”, or Special Project 1. Alpine places the car inside its special-projects pillar, separate from the “Extraordinary Everyday” models intended to drive volume and the “Icons” pillar represented by the A110. Alpine has not said that PS1 is approved for production. There is no official production number, price or delivery timetable.

Renault Group’s official Paris Motor Show announcement lists Alpine PS1 as a concept car intended to explore new territories in design and innovation. Alpine will occupy a 900-square-metre stand in Hall 6. The Alpine media announcement gives the reveal time as 09:20 CEST on 12 October, while the public show runs from 12 to 18 October. The Dutch Renault Group media release identifies Alpine’s stand as A22.

Those are the confirmed facts before the reveal. Alpine has not published the car’s length, seating arrangement, power output, battery capacity, range, charging performance or production status. The available press image does not show the complete vehicle.

One headlight is the only clue

The official teaser focuses on one narrow headlight and part of the front end. The light signature uses the three colours of the French flag, tying the design to Alpine’s national identity. Alpine says the short video and the first image are the only clues it will provide before the curtain rises at the Paris show.

The visible section suggests a low nose and a smooth surface around the lamp. It is not enough to identify the body style, aerodynamic package or intended market position. Concept teasers often isolate one design feature, and that feature may change before a production car is approved.

Auto Express describes PS1 as a possible electric performance car and connects it with the next-generation A110. That is a journalistic expectation, not a confirmed Alpine specification. Alpine’s official wording is narrower: PS1 is a special-project concept exploring new design and innovation territory.

The A110 connection is still unconfirmed

PS1 will appear at the same show as the Alpine A110 Sculpture, an artistic preview of the third-generation A110’s design. Alpine says the sculpture is based on the new APP, or Alpine Performance Platform. Its official material points to proportions inspired by the original Berlinette and the current A110, with a low stance and a focus on aerodynamic flow.

The two projects sharing a stand does not prove that they use the same platform or hardware. Alpine has not published a technical link between PS1 and the A110 Sculpture. It has not said whether PS1 is a coupé, roadster, four-seat sports car or another type of performance vehicle.

Auto Express notes that APP could support different powertrain types, but that possibility is not a PS1 specification. Alpine has not confirmed a battery-electric, combustion or hybrid system for the concept. The word “concept” describes the vehicle’s status, not its final drivetrain.

Alpine PS1 will make its world premiere in Paris in 2026

A special project, not a production announcement

Alpine has used limited projects to demonstrate the performance and personalisation potential of its brand. The A110 R Ultime represented the top end of the current A110 range, but Alpine has not described PS1 as its successor or as a continuation of that car. The price reported by Auto Express for the A110 R Ultime cannot be used as a reference for PS1 because Alpine has not announced a price for the new concept.

The separation between special projects and volume models has a practical meaning. If PS1 remains a show car, visitors can judge the design without a purchase opportunity. If Alpine later approves a limited production run, the important questions will become price, number of cars, homologation and customer access. None of those stages has been announced.

The project also fits the way Alpine is presenting itself in Paris. Alongside PS1, the brand will show the A290 and A390, expanded Atelier Alpine personalisation programmes and the A110 Sculpture. PS1 adds a design-led project without a technical data sheet. It may show how far Alpine wants to stretch its visual language, but it should not be described as a confirmed new road car.

What to watch on 12 October

The premiere should answer the questions left open by the teaser: what type of car is PS1, how many people can it carry, what powers it and whether Alpine has any intention of building customer cars. The explanation of the “Projet Spécial 1” name, its relationship with the A110 and its role in Alpine’s product structure will also matter.

For now, the verified story is deliberately limited. Alpine PS1 is a concept car, it will make its world debut in Paris on 12 October 2026, and its official teaser shows a slim headlight with French-colour accents. Power, range, price, platform and production volume remain unknown.
