Fabrizio Giugiaro and Lapo Elkann have turned the Fiat Topolino into two one-off concepts, presented at Salone Auto Torino: Top.L, a roofless speedster, and Top.J, with four seats. The projects were created at the GFG Style studio and represent the first collaboration between the two, according to Motor1.
The starting point is the current electric Topolino, not the historic Fiat of the same name. The changes affect the body and cabin layout; the presentation does not announce new production versions.

Top.L drops the roof and keeps two seats
Top.L has a very short windscreen and a fully open body above the two seats. The exterior finish is matt aquamarine, and the same shade is used inside on leather, together with Alcantara.
Giugiaro and Elkann cite sports cars such as the Porsche 550 Spyder — also known through James Dean’s “Little Bastard” — as inspiration. The reference concerns the project’s style and character, not turning the Topolino into a sports car with comparable performance.
The photographs show how much the small Fiat’s profile changes once the roof is removed: the seats remain exposed, and the side openings are framed by tubular elements. Compact dimensions and round headlights keep a visual link with the base model.

Top.J adds a bench facing the rear
The second concept proposes four seats in a body less than three metres long. Rear occupants sit facing the opposite direction of travel, back to back with those in front. The layout is one of the clearest differences from the regular Topolino, which has two seats.
A fabric roof replaces the fixed roof, and the cabin combines leather and sponge-textured material in blue and green. The same colours appear on the body.

The livery refers to the Ferrari 166 MM that belonged to Gianni Agnelli, Lapo Elkann’s grandfather, and to Umberto Agnelli’s preference for these colours. The details were also described by ANSA, ahead of the public presentation scheduled for 11 September 2026.

Two design exercises, with no commercial offer announced
The names come from “Love” for Top.L and “Joy” for Top.J. Giugiaro and Elkann present the two creations as the start of a longer collaboration, without specifying the next project.
For anyone interested in a Topolino in Romania, the four-seat layout should not be confused with an option that can be ordered. Top.J remains a concept, and the presentation of the two examples does not include a selling price or a production timetable.
