Kia has shown the PV7 ahead of its world premiere at IAA Transportation

Kia has published preview images and a video of the PV7, the second dedicated model in the fully electric Platform Beyond Vehicle (PBV) range. The materials appear ahead of the global debut, scheduled for 14 September 2026, at the IAA Transportation exhibition in Hanover, Germany.

The announcement was carried in Romania through the Kia Romauto statement. At group level, Kia Corporation published the teaser on 31 August 2026. The statement does not yet include range figures, payload, production dimensions or prices.

Where the PV7 sits in the PBV range

The PV7 follows the PV5 and expands the PBV offering in the light commercial vehicle (LCV) segment. According to Kia, the model offers more space and capacity than the PV5, targeting business customers and commercial and lifestyle uses.

Both models sit on the dedicated E-GMP.S platform, developed for electric commercial vehicles. Kia describes the PV7 as a pillar of the PBV strategy and says derivatives on the same base will follow, without listing them here.

How it looks in the teaser images

The published images show a one-box profile with robust proportions. The black bonnet and pillar trims contrast with the body colour. The graphic signature of the front and rear light clusters follows the visual language of the PBV range.

The materials place it in work and leisure scenes. Kia uses them as a demonstration of positioning, not as a technical sheet: load volumes, body configurations confirmed for production or performance figures do not appear.

What happens at IAA Transportation

The world premiere is announced for the show’s press day, 14 September 2026. Public days run from 15–20 September 2026, according to Kia’s note.

At the same event, the manufacturer will also display a range of derivatives based on the PV5. The stated aim is to show the scalability of the PBV strategy across several types of use, not only on a single base model.

What has not yet been announced

The teaser statement does not specify:

  • WLTP range;
  • battery capacity;
  • power or drivetrain type;
  • production load volumes and payload;
  • sales timetable by market;
  • prices, including for Romania.

Availability in the Kia Romauto network remains to be confirmed after the Hanover premiere. Until then, the PV7 should be treated as a model announced visually, not as a commercial offer.
