Nissan has released the first official images of the next Skyline, ahead of a full reveal planned for December 2026. The sedan will become the 14th generation of the nameplate and is expected to remain exclusive to Japan.
The new car has a more assertive front end, while the rear lighting graphics draw on the visual language of the Skyline GT-R. Nissan has not confirmed a GT-R version, nor has it published powertrain, output or pricing details.
Nissan chief executive Ivan Espinosa has described Skyline as an important model for the company. That positioning matters because Nissan has been reducing the number of separate products in some markets while retaining names with a strong local following.
AI shortens the development programme
Nissan says this is the first Skyline developed with the help of artificial intelligence. The complete programme took 26 months, approximately half the normal development time quoted for a new vehicle project.
The manufacturer has not explained which engineering or design tasks were accelerated. AI assistance should not be confused with removing validation: the vehicle still has to pass testing, regulatory approval and production checks.
A Japan-market sedan
The new Skyline is scheduled to be built at Nissan’s Tochigi plant. Nissan has not announced sales in Europe or North America. The December presentation should fill in the remaining gaps, including the propulsion system, equipment and launch schedule.
