Bentley has prepared a special edition of the Continental GT S and Continental GTC S to honour Polish astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus. The project was created by Mulliner, Bentley’s in-house commissioning division, and is available exclusively in Poland. Bentley has not published a price, a total production number or a detailed order window in the information reviewed for this article.
The concept is based on the heliocentric system associated with Copernicus. Mulliner translates it into three visual versions called Sun, Earth and Moon. These names describe the paint and interior themes rather than different engines or chassis configurations. All three cars are based on existing Continental GT S and GTC S models.
Three colour stories
The Sun car uses Manuka orange for the exterior and Gravity grey with orange accents inside. It is the warmest of the three combinations and provides the most direct visual reference to the central star in a planetary system.
Earth uses Nebula blue on the outside. Its cabin combines Imperial Blue and Aegean Blue. Moon takes a different approach, pairing Moonstruck silver bodywork with a dark Beluga interior and lighter Ice accents.

It is a Mulliner design element added to the cars’ trim and presentation. It does not represent a new infotainment function, a new powertrain or a change to the vehicle’s driving systems.

The Continental GT S and GTC S underneath
The Continental GT S is the fixed-roof coupe, while the Continental GTC S is its convertible counterpart. Both are four-seat grand tourers, but the choice affects the way the car is used. The GTC adds an opening roof, while the coupe retains the structural and packaging characteristics of a fixed-roof body.
Bentley’s announcement for the new S models describes a High Performance Hybrid powertrain producing 680 PS and 930 Nm. The stated 0–100 km/h time is 3.5 seconds and top speed is 306 km/h. Those numbers describe the Continental GT S and GTC S range. They should not be treated as separate test results for the Copernicus colour themes unless Bentley issues a dedicated technical sheet.
The underlying hybrid system combines a V8 petrol engine with an electric motor and a traction battery. The special edition changes the visual specification rather than announcing a different battery, motor output or suspension tune. No public information reviewed here confirms mechanical changes between Sun, Earth and Moon.
Mulliner’s role is broader than choosing a paint colour. Bentley’s commissioning division can work with hides, stitching, veneers, metal finishes and graphic details. In this case, the three predefined themes give the Polish market a common design language while leaving the GT S and GTC S technical base intact.
Why the edition is Poland-only
The idea has a direct national connection. Copernicus was born in Toruń, and his work is strongly associated with Polish scientific history. Bentley’s Polish operation can therefore use the astronomer’s name and the planetary diagram as a local theme for the Continental range.
The Poland-only status is important for customers in other countries. The Continental GT S and GTC S are sold in wider markets, but that does not mean a standard dealer in Germany, France or Romania can order the Copernicus edition from a normal price list. A customer outside Poland could ask Bentley about an individual Mulliner commission, but a one-off commission would not automatically be the same official market edition.
There is also no published production volume in the material available. It would therefore be premature to call the series a numbered limited edition or to predict a future collector value. A fixed colour theme and a special graphic can make a car distinctive, but rarity needs an official production figure to be measured.

A design commission, not a new powertrain
The Copernicus project is primarily about personalisation. Mulliner connects paint, upholstery and planetary graphics to a historical subject while keeping the current Continental GT S and GTC S as the mechanical foundation. The available information does not announce a larger battery, a new engine, a revised chassis or a special performance figure.
The missing commercial details matter. Bentley has not specified the price for Sun, Earth or Moon, the number of cars available, the period during which orders will be accepted or whether every theme can be ordered in both body styles. These points should be confirmed by Bentley’s Polish retailer before a customer treats the gallery as a sales specification.
For readers outside Poland, the edition is best understood as an example of how Bentley Mulliner adapts a global model to a national story. Sun, Earth and Moon are three visual interpretations of the same Copernican idea. The cars remain Continental GT S and GTC S models, and the Poland-only availability is the central commercial limitation.
