Bovensiepen has presented the Spider, a two-seat roadster built on the BMW Z4 M40i. The model develops 435 hp, will be assembled by hand in only 99 examples and costs €115,500 in Germany, including 19% VAT. First deliveries are scheduled for the end of the first quarter of 2027.
The company in Buchloe is run by brothers Andreas and Florian Bovensiepen, members of the family that founded Alpina. Rights to the Alpina brand passed to BMW at the beginning of 2026, and the new firm uses the family name for small-series cars.
BMW six-cylinder engine, taken to 435 hp
The Spider keeps the 3.0-litre turbocharged inline-six and rear-wheel drive of the Z4 M40i, but power rises from 340 hp in BMW’s European specification to 435 hp. Peak torque climbs from 500 to 580 Nm.
Bovensiepen says it has reduced restrictions in the intake path, added a ram-air channel and enlarged the intake silencer. The sport exhaust has also been modified for greater flow and lower back pressure.
The roadster accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.2 seconds and reaches 260 km/h. The Performance pack raises the top speed to 295 km/h and adds an aluminium cover for the rear differential with larger cooling fins, plus a V-brace under the body.

1,585 kg and a recalibrated chassis
The declared DIN mass is 1,585 kg, which means a ratio of about 3.6 kg/hp. The suspension has recalibrated dampers, with firmer compression at low damper speeds, and the rear axle gets longer helper springs.
The 20-inch forged wheels are fitted with Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S tyres, 255/35 ZR20 at the front and 295/30 ZR20 at the rear. The consumption figures published by the manufacturer are still provisional: 8.8 l/100 km in the WLTP cycle and emissions of 199 g CO₂/km.
Bodywork redesigned with Frank Stephenson
Although the proportions and basic structure point straight to the BMW Z4, the Bovensiepen Spider has its own exterior parts. The design was developed with Frank Stephenson, known for work for BMW, Mini, Ferrari, Maserati and McLaren.
The front gets a new spoiler, and the wings have air outlets. The side sills, diffuser and integrated rear spoiler set the car apart visually from the BMW model. The roof remains a folding fabric top.

The 99 cars will be offered in five colours. The manufacturer has already allocated 40 examples to Sapphire Black, 25 to Sanremo Green, 20 to Skyscraper Grey, nine to Thundernight and five to Frozen Grey II.
No announced offer for Romania
The €115,500 price applies at the Buchloe factory and includes German taxes. Bovensiepen has not published a tariff for Romania and does not list a local partner; the announced international network so far comprises dealers in the Czech Republic, Belgium and the Netherlands.
A Romanian buyer would therefore have to consider purchasing through a European market where the brand has representation, as well as transport and registration costs. The manufacturer is already taking orders, but has not said how many of the 99 production slots remain available.
