Hyundai opens orders for the Staria Electric in Germany: up to 9 seats, 430 km WLTP and a price from €57,450
Hyundai has opened orders in Germany for the Staria Electric, the battery version of its large MPV. The starting price is €57,450, including VAT, for the nine-seat Trend equipment. The model comes with an 84 kWh battery, a front electric motor of 160 kW (218 hp) and homologated range of up to 430 km in the WLTP cycle.
It is a concrete commercial step after the model’s European presentation at the beginning of the year: the Staria Electric now appears in Hyundai’s offer on the continent’s largest car market, with clearly defined prices and equipment. Hyundai has not communicated, in the materials consulted, prices or an order date for Romania.
Three equipment levels and two seating layouts
On the German market, the range starts with the Staria Electric Trend, from €57,450. The Prime version is listed at €63,650, and the Calligraphy level starts at €66,950. Prices include VAT, but Hyundai notes that delivery costs are added.
Trend and Prime are offered with nine seats, a configuration less common among electric passenger vehicles. Calligraphy has seven seats and emphasises occupant comfort. In the nine-seat version, boot volume behind the third row reaches 1,303 litres, measured to the VDA standard. The seven-seat Calligraphy variant has 431 litres in the same position.
For large families, hotels, people transfers or small transport operators, the layout is one of the important differences versus seven-seat electric SUVs. Maximum towing capacity is 2,000 kg, according to Hyundai.
84 kWh battery and 800 V fast charging
The Staria Electric uses an 84 kWh battery and front-wheel drive. The 160 kW motor is the same in power as on some of the group’s electric models, but here it has to move a larger vehicle, designed first of all for space and passenger transport.
The 800 V architecture allows, in optimal conditions, charging the battery from 10% to 80% in about 20 minutes at a high-power DC station. On alternating current, the onboard charger accepts up to 11 kW. The 430 km range is the maximum WLTP figure for the Staria Electric Trend; in real use, the result varies with speed, temperature, load and use of the climate control.
The model also includes Vehicle-to-Load (V2L), which can power external equipment through a 230 V socket, with output of up to 3.5 kW. That can be useful on work trips, outdoor activities or camping, without turning the vehicle into a dedicated camper.
Positioning next to the Volkswagen ID. Buzz
The German price of the base version places the Staria Electric very close to the long-wheelbase Volkswagen ID. Buzz with the 86 kWh battery, listed by Volkswagen in Germany from €57,887. Hyundai, however, offers nine seats and considerable luggage volume behind the last row, two arguments relevant for buyers who need a passenger vehicle with maximum capacity.
A direct comparison depends on configuration and equipment, and local prices cannot be automatically transposed to Romania. Until an announcement from the local importer, potential Romanian customers can treat the German offer as an indication of positioning, not as a confirmed selling price on our market.
